Join us this fall for a citywide conversation about race, social
justice, and Claudia Rankine’s Citizen.
In partnership with the city and county of Denver, we’ll be
distributing free copies of Citizen throughout the metro area
as well as making sure it’s available in local libraries and

Rankine uses Citizen to explore what it means to be a person of
color in America today, from outright police brutality to the
everyday racism of implied judgments and sideways glances.
What can we learn from these experiences? How can we
use what we learn to create a more inclusive and accepting

Read the book, consider its themes, and then come to one of
the book talks, writing sessions, arts events, and other activities
we’ll be hosting ahead of Rankine’s visit to Denver, November
15 & 16.
